About
I think about grammar, syntax, and word choice for a living, and for fun.
Copywriter in Sacramento, California, with a lifelong passion for writing and communication. BA in English Language and Literature, CSU Sacramento, 2018.
Professional
After graduating from CSU Sacramento with a BA in English in 2018, I started at YDesign Group, writing thousands of product descriptions over two years.
In December 2021 I was promoted to the marketing team as the company rebranded to Lumens, where I spent two years as the SEO Copywriter. I owned the content migration during the rebrand, wrote biographies for designers like Charles and Ray Eames and Achille Castiglioni, and built brand histories for B&B Italia, FLOS, and Tom Dixon — plus category copy, title tags, and meta descriptions, all to Google's guidelines.
In January 2024 I joined Dollar General's e-commerce and merchandising team as a contract Content and Product Copywriter, and I'm still there. What started as SEO category copy grew into most of the customer-facing text on the site: category architecture, homepage and landing page copy, weekly paid ads across every text channel, and UX copy for the DG Rewards app.
Off the clock
I'm a voracious reader — murder mysteries and character dramas through to lengthy fantasy series and difficult, experimental post-modern novels. Weekly pub trivia player, amateur video editor, and avid film fan, seeing 60+ movies in theaters a year. On weekends you'll find me at waterfalls or on top of mountains.
I was also the Dungeon Master for a 3-year Dungeons and Dragons campaign with hundreds of pages of written lore and worldbuilding, currently in development as a series of novels.
